Overview

If you are planning to start any food related business, whether you are a manufacturer, trader or a restaurant, you must compulsorily obtain FSSAI Registrationt or license before commencing operations. MyAdvo will help you get the FSSAI Registrationt / license through expert food industry lawyers.

Types of FSSAI Licenses

Depending on the size of your establishment, there are three categories of FSSAI:

FSSAI Registrationt (small food business) - Annual turnover of not more than Rs. 12 Lakhs
FSSAI State License (medium food business) - Annual turnover between Rs. 12 Lakhs and Rs. 20 Crores
FSSAI Central License (large food business) - Annual turnover more than Rs. 20 Crore

Time Period of the registration/ license: The FSSAI Registrationt or license can be applied for a validity period of minimum 1 year and maximum 5 years.

After receipt of the FSSAI Registrationt / license, you will be required to display it prominently at the place of business during working hours or on the label of the food package.

Steps involved in obtaining FSSAI License/ registration

Requirements

Once you book the service and send in a request, we will provide you with a questionnaire to understand your requirements. A checklist of required documents will also be provided to you.

Documents

You will be required to send scanned copies of the required documents to us through email.

Application

Upon receipt of documents and filled questionnaire, we will draft and submit the application for grant of FSSAI registration/ license with the FSSAI authority.

Examination of application and inspection

FSSAI authority will examine the application and carry out food inspection at the premises. We will regularly follow up with the authorities at this stage.

FSSAI registration/ license

Within 40-50 days of the application, the FSSAI registration/ license will be issued. We will collect the document and send it to you through courier.

Signed application form
Photo Identity Proof of the Food Business Owner
- Photocopy of PAN Card
- Latest Passport Size Photograph
Proof of Possession of the Premises(Land Papers, lease agreement or Rental Agreement)
Articles Of Association /Certificate of incorporation/ Partnership Deed, if applicable
An extensive list of food items FBO will be dealing with and handling
The plan for Food Safety System Management [Not needed for Basic FSSAI registration]

Additional Documents required for State FSSAI License

Blueprint or layout of the proposed location
Detailed list of Equipment and Machinery installed or to be installed at the location
NOC and copy of the license from manufacturers
Authority letter with particulars about the name and address of the person responsible.

Additional Documents required for Central FSSAI License

Water Report Analysis from a well-established and/or a government health laboratory
Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued IEC (Import Export Code)
Pesticide Residue Report of the water for units involved in the manufacturing of mineral or carbonated water
Designated milk provider/ Source of Milk
Proof of Annual turnover, if required
Meat provider/ Meat processing units
Certificates allotted by the Ministry of Tourism, if applicable
Vehicles turnover proof, if applicable
