Telangana government gave a major relief to the public by issuing orders to regulate the parking fees in commercial establishments in the Hyderabad city and other rural areas. It has been observed that huge number of commercial establishments in Hyderabad are levying high parking fees irrespective of the duration. The Municipal Administration and Urban Development department issued the order and asked to remove parking fee in malls and multiplexes for the first 30 minutes.
Several citizens complained regarding the high parking fee charged by the commercial establishments in Hyderabad. An FIR had been lodged against Inorbit mall when a man was charged INR 30 as parking fee for using the parking space for just 10 minutes.
Arvind Kumar, the Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal tweeted that based on the complaints made to MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao, on high parking fee in mall and multiplexes rationalised for all urban areas including Hyderabad that no parking fee for the first half hour and subsequently, free parking upon producing purchase bills from the mall to be in effect from April 1.
The new order is a relief for the ones who had the complained about the charging fees being too high in the multiplexes and malls. As per the new order, if the vehicle owner produces the bill of any purchase made, then no parking fee can be extended to an hour and if a person who has parked more than an hour produce a bill or movie ticket to an amount which is more than the parking fee, that person need not pay the parking fee.
