SECURITY TIGHTENED AT INDIA-BANGLADESH BORDER FOLLOWING ROHINGYA CRISIS

The Inspector General of BSF Tripura frontier region informed media that the troops have been posted and the patrolling has been intensified along the borders of Bangladesh to prevent any kind of refugee influx. He also added that many Rohingya Muslims have entered the Tripura region via Bangladesh in search of jobs but no such situation has been noticed after the recent turmoil in Myanmar Rakhine state

The Rohingya’s issue has taken altogether a different scenario currently. The State Police and the paramilitary troops have tightened the security at India Bangladesh border in order to prevent any sort of infiltration into the north eastern region. Five different north eastern states of India share a border of on and around 4096 km with Bangladesh. The area along the border being riverine, mountainous and unfenced has enabled illegal immigrants, smugglers and interlopers to cross over without facing much of a problem. 

The Inspector General of BSF’s Tripura frontier region informed media that the troops have been posted and the patrolling has been intensified along the borders of Bangladesh to prevent any kind of refugee influx. He also added that many Rohingya Muslims have entered the Tripura region via Bangladesh in search of jobs but no such situation has been noticed after the recent turmoil in Myanmaar’s Rakhine state. 

Director General of Tripura Police said that the help has been sought from the BSF in strengthening the security along 856 km boundary with Bangladesh and as a result a total of 18 battalions of paramilitary troops were deployed along the border.
After having a look at the security along the Bangladesh Border, 

BSF officials also said that it’s commanders have always taken prompt and suitable steps to prevent any attempt by the people of Rohingya community from entering Indian Territories along the Tripura and Mizoram border who are fleeing Myanmar
