As per the findings of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe report, Hadiya’s Husband ‘Shafin Jahan’ was in touch with the two key accused namely, Manseed and P Safvan in the omar-al-hindi-case. The NIA submitted that they traced the connections through a closed facebook group which consists of activists from Popular Front of India (PFI)’s political arm SDPI and the connections are found from the preceding months of their marriage.
The chargesheeted accused Manseed and P Safvan has been arrested in october last year for their involvement in the omar-al-hindi case. The case was about criminal conspiracy against the high court judges, senior police officers and political leaders by the Islamic state inspired group.
It was further alleged by the NIA that the medium of bringing together Shafin and Hadiya is not a website named ‘waytonikah.com’ but their closeness and marriage has been allied by the Manseed and his associates from SDPI including his friend Muneer . The Marriage of Hadiya and Shafin took place in December 2016.
The Marriage of Shafin and Hadiya has been annulled by the Kerala HC and Presently an appeal has been filed by Shafin against the order of annulment of the Kerala High Court.
It was further submitted by the NIA that Hadiya’s guardian appointed by the court at time of her marriage, Sainaba was already known to Muneer through his PFI/SDPI network.
The probe report of NIA further founded that the Shafin was an active worker of the SDPI’s student wing campus during his college days and was in contact with Manseed and P Safvan. They were the part of the same closed facebook group called ‘SDPI Keralam’ and Manseed and Safvan other than being member of group were also the part of administrative panel of the group. Further, Shafin was also a mentor and had access to a career guidance group where Sainaba was a member.
The Kerala police has also pointed out that though Manseed and Shafin had never met each other but they knew each other.
As per the probe report submitted by the NIA there were lot of contradictions in the statements before the Kerala High Court. It said that as per the Shafin and Hadiya got their marriage arranged through the website but according to the sources of NIA Shafin registered himself on the website on 19 September, 2015 whereas the Hadiya was registered on the website by Sainaba on 17 April 2016. On the websites only their basic details were visible as they have not taken the paid service and the interested parties have to collect the details through website.
Hadiya and Shafin had viewed 49 and 63 profiles respectively but they did not viewed each other’s profile. The NIA said that the marriage proposal of Shafin in the present love jihad case came in August 2016 through Muneer.
