Office Assistant in the Ministry of External Affairs has alleged her husband and inlaws of brutally assaulting her while she was pregnant and refused to abort her female foetus.

The victim woman aged 42 years got married to Mr. Rajnish Gulati, a delhi based doctor on July 21, 2016. It was alleged in the complaint by the women that her husband, sister-in-law Amita, her husband’s uncle Sushil Kumar Nagrath and her mother-in-law Sarla Gulati in february 2017 after refusing to abort her female foetus she was dragged out of the house.

She further stated that when she tried to re-enter her matrimonial house she was beaten by her mother-in law and later on complaint being made to delhi police no action was taken against her husband or her in-laws.

It was further alleged by her in the complaint to the delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik and assistant commissioner police Rohit Rajbir singh that the station house officer Pramod Kumar Joshi and sub-inspector Devender of West Patel Nagar police station has threatened her to take her complaint back and if she does not do so they will implicate her in false cases.

She further alleged that on 1 April 2017 SHO Joshi made her sit in the police station for over six hours and did not allow her to eat or drink anything despite the fact that she was pregnant. She further stated that her husband also beat her inside the police station which ultimately led to miscarriage.

After the incident she approached the Tis Hazari Court and during the counselling session in the court, her husband assured that they will sort the matter amicably and in a peaceful manner and further asked the women to give a statement in written that she will not take any legal action against him or his family members.

Later, he took his wife to his home and threw her out of the house after a week. Fresh complaint against which was made on December 25 with the SHO Joshi. ACP Rohit Rajbir Singh that they are examining the complaint regarding the cruelty.
