It's been two months since Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority opened its office in Gurgaon, and it is soon going to start with its grievance redressal process. It is going to start its journey with its first hearing of complaints on March 27th, 2018. The authorities decided to hold hearing from Tuesday to Thursday every week.

The real estate regulator has registered 99 complaints till now which mostly contain delay in possession submitted by homebuyers, which are planned to be heard in phases. In the first hearing, complaints on registration of real estate projects are scheduled to be heard. KK Khandelwal, Chairman of HRERA (Gurgaon) informed that the second hearing shall take place in April first week and they shall be conducting the hearing of buyer’s complaint from Tuesday to Thursday. The preparation of the hearing will be done on Monday and the decisions of the concerned week will be uploaded on Saturday.

After 75 complaints submitted by homebuyers in Panchkula, HRERA in Gurgaon became functional on February 5th. Out of those, nine were in proper format, and rest were sent back to be filed in a proper format. Since then HRERA received almost 90 complaints.

Khandelwal explained the procedure that the complainant must register their grievances on website before submitting them following the prescribed format. After registering on website, a complainant will have to file it before the authority in person with a list of dates, facts, in brief, issues to be decided, the relief sought and affidavit. After that, the complaint would get a registration number and the hearing shall be held following the serial number.

HRERA made a promise to decide on a complaint within 60 days, and notices would be sent within 21 days to the respondents. The replies are to be filed by the respondent on all the alleged facts, the relief sought and any additional facts and any other submission along with evidence if there any.
