Hello, A vakalt form/Vakaltnama is an authority given by Client to an Advocate to appear on his/her behalf before the concerned court and to do other necessary legal orienting activities such as drafting, arguments, prepare applications, appeals, examinations, to compromise the matter. etc. It is used as an authority before the concerned court that a client by way of vakaltnama to do the above said acts on his/her behalf. Only the case details and the name of the party authorizing the lawyer has to be filled. Yes you can sign but i will suggest that one should sign after the other details are filed in the vakaltnama.

Vakalatnama or Vakil Patra or for that matter, Vakalat Form, the details of which is usually filled by the Advocate. It is an appointment of an Advocate by the client who can adjudicate the matter on the client's behalf, since the Advocate knows law more than a common person. No, you should not sign a blank Vakalat Form.

A Vakalatnama/Vakalatpatra is a mandate or an authority in writing given by the client appointing a Lawyer to appear and plead on his behalf. Usually lawyers have a standard printer format which is given to their clients for executing the same. The usual practice followed by the Lawyers is that the clients sign the Vakalatnama first then the lawyers sign and file the same in Court.
